Generate a QR code for any URL or link so people can open your website by scanning it with their phone camera. Type or paste a link, and a scannable QR code appears instantly, with the missing https:// added for you. Choose the size and error-correction level, then download a high-quality PNG ready to print or share. Everything runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
What is a URL QR code?
A URL QR code is a scannable square that stores a web address. When someone points their phone camera at it, the device offers to open that link in the browser, so they reach your site without typing the address by hand. It is the fastest way to connect printed materials such as posters, flyers, business cards, packaging, and signs to an online page. Modern iOS and Android cameras read QR codes natively, so no special app is needed.
How to make a QR code for a link
Paste the link you want to share and the QR code updates live. If you leave off the scheme, https:// is added automatically so the code always opens correctly.
- Type or paste your URL, for example example.com or https://example.com/page.
- Pick a size and an error-correction level if you want extra scan reliability.
- Scan the generated code with your phone camera to confirm it opens the right page.
- Download the PNG to print on a flyer, poster, card, or product label.
Which error-correction level should I choose?
Error correction lets a QR code still scan even when part of it is dirty, scratched, or covered by a logo. Level L recovers about 7% of the code and produces the simplest pattern, while H recovers about 30% but packs in more dots. For a plain printed link, Low or Medium is usually fine. Choose Quartile or High if the code will be small, printed on a rough surface, or have a logo placed over the centre.
Why use this URL QR code generator?
- Free with no ads, sign-up, watermarks, or scan limits.
- Adds https:// automatically when you leave off the scheme.
- Choose from four sizes up to 1024 x 1024 for crisp, large prints.
- Pick the error-correction level (L, M, Q, H) for the right balance of density and reliability.
- Live preview updates as you type, with the exact encoded URL shown alongside.
- Download a high-quality PNG for posters, flyers, cards, packaging, and signage.
- Runs fully in your browser, so the link you enter never leaves your device.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to type https:// before my link?
No. If you enter a plain address like example.com, https:// is added for you so the QR code opens as a normal web link. If your URL already starts with http://, https://, or another scheme, it is used exactly as you typed it.
Do the QR codes expire or stop working?
No. The code is a static image that encodes your link directly, so it never expires and works forever as long as the destination page stays online. There is no tracking redirect that could be shut down.
What size should I download for printing?
Pick a larger size, such as 512 or 1024 pixels, for anything that will be printed, so the code stays crisp when scaled. A good rule of thumb is to keep the printed code at least two centimetres wide and test a scan from the expected distance.
Is my link sent to a server?
No. The QR code is generated entirely on your device in the browser, so the URL you enter is never uploaded to or stored on any server.
