Convert between 35+ world currencies using live exchange rates, right in your browser. Enter an amount, pick the currencies, and see the converted value and the current rate instantly — with an offline manual-rate fallback when you have no connection.
Live exchange rates are unavailable right now. Enter the rate yourself to keep converting.
ToolsSoup's Currency Converter turns any amount from one currency into another using up-to-date exchange rates, all from your browser. Type an amount, choose a "from" and "to" currency from more than 35 world currencies, and you instantly see the converted value plus the current exchange rate. The rates are fetched live from a free public exchange-rate feed, so there's no sign-up, no API key, and nothing to install. If you're offline or the feed is unreachable, the tool lets you type the rate in yourself so you can keep converting. Your amounts never leave your device.
What is a currency converter?
A currency converter takes an amount in one currency and tells you what it's worth in another, using the exchange rate between the two. This one pulls live mid-market rates the moment you open it, covers major and many emerging-market currencies, and recalculates the instant you change the amount or either currency. It also shows the exact rate used (for example, 1 USD = 0.92 EUR) so you can see how the result was reached and reuse the rate elsewhere.
How to convert currency
Converting a currency takes three quick steps, and the result updates automatically as you type:
- Enter the amount you want to convert.
- Choose the currency you're converting from and the currency you're converting to.
- Read the converted amount and the live exchange rate below. Use the swap button to reverse the direction, or Refresh to re-fetch the latest rates.
Where do the exchange rates come from?
Because ToolsSoup is a fully static site with no server, the converter fetches rates directly from your browser using a free, open, no-key public exchange-rate API (the community-maintained @fawazahmed0 currency API delivered over a CDN). Rates are typical daily mid-market reference rates and update roughly once a day. They're great for estimates, travel budgeting, and quick comparisons, but they aren't the exact rate your bank or card provider will apply, which usually adds a margin or fee.
What happens if I'm offline?
If your browser can't reach the rate feed — for example on a flaky connection or behind a strict firewall — the converter doesn't just fail. It shows a manual-rate box where you can type the exchange rate yourself (say, the rate printed on a receipt or from your bank), and it converts using that number. This keeps the math working anywhere, with or without a connection, in keeping with the tool running entirely client-side.

Frequently asked questions
Are the exchange rates live and accurate?
They're up-to-date mid-market reference rates fetched from a free public feed that updates about once a day. That's ideal for estimates and comparisons, but your bank, card, or money-transfer service may apply a slightly different rate plus fees.
How do I convert an amount from one currency to another?
Enter the amount, pick the currency to convert from and the one to convert to, and the converted value appears instantly along with the rate used. Press the swap button to reverse the two currencies.
Can I use the currency converter offline?
Yes. If live rates can't load, the tool shows a manual-rate field. Type in the exchange rate you want to use and it converts with that rate, so it still works without a connection.
Does this converter store or send my data?
No. The conversion happens entirely in your browser. Only the public list of exchange rates is downloaded; the amounts you enter are never uploaded anywhere.
Which currencies are supported?
Over 35, including USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CHF, CAD, AUD, CNY, INR, BRL, MXN, and many more, plus Bitcoin. Pick any pair from the dropdowns to convert between them.
